About the Report
This report, conducted by @AfricanNGOs and EPIC-Africa, focuses exclusively on the impact of COVID-19 on African Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The survey, conducted between April 29 and May 15, 2020, assesses the negative effects of the pandemic on CSOs’ funding and operations, explores their coping mechanisms, and highlights their involvement in national pandemic responses. It provides a snapshot of the challenges faced by African CSOs and emphasizes opportunities and lessons learned for their recovery and sustainability. The report fills a crucial knowledge gap and offers data-based evidence to inform engagement with African CSOs by funders, governments, the private sector, and other stakeholders, while empowering CSOs to strengthen solidarity and advocate for greater recognition and support.
