Pauline M. Wambua, Ph.D.

Pauline Wambua is a seasoned development researcher and an Education Policy Analyst. She has strong expertise and experience in monitoring, evaluation, and research within the education sector, leading project teams and tasks on large applied social research projects, working with development partners, sustaining complex relationships in collaborative projects, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to various audiences. Her research examines the role of policies in perpetuating or mitigating educational inequalities. 

Before joining EPIC-Africa, Pauline worked at Management Systems International (MSI), where she supported MERL activities and data management for global education projects primarily funded by USAID. She also worked at Arizona State University as part of an interdisciplinary team that focused on the MERL activities of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program e-Learning Initiative that supported ten partner institutions in building the capacity to accelerate, adopt, and sustain e-learning. In the past, Pauline supported research projects at Michigan State University, the University of Nairobi and the Economic Policy Research Center, Uganda. She is a trained teacher and taught high school in Kenya. 

Pauline holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy (with a Graduate Specialization in International Development) and a Master of Public Policy from Michigan State University. She also has a Master’s in Development Studies and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
